How do i record voice on my computer without buying some sort of softwear?

I already have a microphone and i need to send a voice over project over e-mail.

well windows has an app called sound recorder. dont know if its any good though.

Sound Recorder is under Start > All Programs > Accessories > Sound Recorder. It may be under Accessories > Entertainment

Go to Start / Search Record !
